Project management

The key to a successful relocation, set-up or restack is Project Management. Many companies use internal committees to administer the many facets of the project. Although it would seem reasonable to expect everything to go smoothly, in practice this is rarely the case. Because the committee members are also required to perform their normal job function they are not always fully focused on the move and may not be able to attend every meeting. Over a period of time this can lead to a number of seemingly inconsequential items being overlooked, which may cause major problems either on the actual move day or during the initial occupation of the office.

The Relocation Company always attend project meetings to ensure we are completely up to date with all aspects of the program. Our attention to detail, together with our 25 years experience, allows us to quickly identify potential omissions and proactively suggest remedial action.

Tender management

One of the most irritating chores of your move will be meeting, obtaining and then comparing quotes from contractors and suppliers. No matter how well you explain your requirements their proposals will include items you do not want, or need, and exclude items you must have.

The Relocation Company will completely manage your tender process, ensure all your requirements are included and provide a simple cost comparison chart allowing you to select a suitable contractor.

Move management

Contrary to popular belief, a move does not just happen once you have selected a removal company. They move your equipment, crates and furniture between A and B. What they do not know is where everything should go. We do. The Relocation Company identifies equipment, filing and staff locations at the destination and coordinate with you, the removal company and suppliers  to ensure everyone knows what is happening and when. As most relocations occur at a weekend we maintain an on-site presence to mitigate the impact of unforeseen snags - lifts may not work - removal lorries do break down. We are also in attendance on day 1 to answer questions and resolve any move issues.

Change management

The key to a successful office relocation, fit out or restack is twofold.

1.      The Move. When your employees arrive on the day following the change it is essential that it appears seamless. They must be able to sit at their desk, use the phones, computers, printers and faxes, their personal crate(s) must be to hand and they should know where company and departmental filing is located. The only difference should be the office environment not its functionality.

2.      Communication. Employees like to know what is going on. The more information they are given about how the change will affect them, their department and their interaction with other departments the less likely they are to feel isolated from the change and become disillusioned or dissatisfied.

The Relocation Company’s approach to change management is to be highly visible and easily approachable by anyone about anything. Our priority is to establish excellent working relationships with employees, management, contractors and suppliers.  These relationships increase our knowledge of your move allowing us to answer almost any question immediately or know who to contact to obtain the answer.

Because of this constant Communication we know who is sitting where, which individuals or departments need special attention and where equipment is to be located. This allows us to prepare a plan to ensure The Move is as seamless as possible.
